Credit Business Association (CBA) membership is open to professionals and business owners who operate within, or support, the credit services and credit education industry. This includes credit consultants, credit educators, credit service providers, business credit professionals, sales professionals, and advisors who work directly with consumers or in partnership with third-party credit service organizations. Applicants must demonstrate a legitimate professional intent, agree to uphold CBA’s code of ethics and professional standards, and complete any required application or vetting process. CBA membership is intended for individuals and organizations seeking to operate responsibly, compliantly, and with a commitment to professional integrity. CBA is a professional trade association and does not offer memberships to consumers seeking personal credit assistance.
Both. CBA membership dues may be paid either annually or on a recurring monthly basis, depending on the option that best fits the member’s business structure and cash flow preferences. Annual membership: $297 per year Monthly membership: $29.99 per month (recurring) Both options provide access to the same core membership benefits, credentials, and professional resources. The annual option offers a lower overall cost, while the monthly option allows members to maintain flexibility with predictable recurring payments. Membership dues support the ongoing operations of the Credit Business Association, including professional standards, member resources, and industry advocacy.
No. There is no federal requirement that an individual or company obtain a certification to operate in the credit repair or credit services industry. At the federal level, the industry is governed primarily by laws such as the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), which regulate conduct—not credentials. However, while certification is not legally required, many professionals choose to pursue voluntary certification through a trade association like the Credit Business Association (CBA) to demonstrate knowledge, professionalism, ethical standards, and a commitment to compliant business practices. Certification can enhance credibility with consumers, partners, and referral sources, even though it is not a substitute for legal compliance. CBA certification is intended to elevate professional standards, not to imply licensure or government endorsement.
Yes. CBA members may add team members at a later time by contacting the association directly. Each additional team member must meet CBA eligibility standards and complete the required application, credentialing, and vetting process, as applicable. Team memberships are issued on an individual basis to ensure professional accountability, credential integrity, and adherence to CBA’s ethical standards. Pricing, credential access, and available benefits for additional team members may vary based on membership level. To add team members or request assistance with onboarding, members should contact CBA support for guidance and next steps.
The Credit Business Association (CBA) is a newly launched professional trade association created to elevate professionalism, accountability, and ethical standards within the credit services industry. During its development and beta launch phase, established credit service providers actively requested more robust vetting, credentialing, and accountability standards, which directly shaped CBA’s framework. Several experienced industry providers participated during the beta launch period, joining early to help support higher professional standards and more transparent business practices. This early adoption reflects growing demand within the industry for a credible, standards-based professional association focused on trust, ethics, and long-term sustainability. CBA operates as a sister organization to The Credit Consultants Association (CCA) and works closely with Consumer Trust Advocacy, an independent organization dedicated to vetting, background checks, and consumer trust initiatives. This collaboration allows CBA to combine industry experience with enhanced vetting and professional oversight. Industry recognition is built through consistent ethical conduct, verified standards, and professional accountability over time. CBA does not claim government endorsement or licensure; its credentials are voluntary professional designations intended to support responsible and compliant credit professionals.
